Workshop Description:
Joanne Elphinston is back with more insights & JEMS solutions to open up a wider range of options for your tricky upper limb patients.
Whether you joined Joanne for the "Giving Them Wings" workshop last year or not, she is going to take you deeper into the movement web, where biomechanics, neuromuscular patterning, sensory connection & embodiment intersect.
Joanne has a particular interest in those upper limbs that have resisted conventional rehab programmes, & will look forward to showing you new ways to examine, observe & clinically reason for these patients.
Leave the Theraband at home, get curious & take in the bigger picture in this practical workshop to develop new skills, get your hands on & learn some powerful but simple tools that your patients will love.

Beginning her professional journey over thirty years ago as a physiotherapist & coach, Joanne Elphinston is a movement philosopher, performance consultant & international lecturer in rehabilitation & movement.
From her wide ranging work in elite sport & the performing arts, to her continued clinical interest in chronic & complex presentations, Joanne’s path of inquiry lies in what connects us in the deeply human experience of movement.
Joanne is the creator of the JEMS? approach, a holistic but meticulously clinically reasoned method for integrating the science & the art of clinical practice.
Through two decades of prolific teaching across multiple countries, Joanne’s work is now used by practitioners in a wide array of clinical settings, from paediatrics, neurology & falls prevention through to hypermobility & sports performance, and her work has underpinned an array of research projects in Sweden.
Joanne’s books, including “Stability, Sport and Performance Movement”, have been translated into a number of languages. Her most recent book, “The Power and the Grace: A Professional’s Guide to Ease and Efficiency in Functional Movement”, is available from Handspring Publishing.
